Wintertime in Philly: Center City Restaurant Week

Our city is not only famous for Philly cheesesteaks. Philadelphia is overflowing with unique, delicious restaurants with diverse cuisine. The most popular restaurants are an eclectic mix of American, Italian, French, and Middle Eastern, making the city an up and coming food capital of the country. Center City also has its fair share of high-end eateries that are not in the price range of many residents and visitors. Enter: Center City District Restaurant Week!

Center City Restaurant Week will be held January 14 to 26, 2018. Every winter and fall, restaurants throughout Center City offer dinners for a reduced price, as well as reduced rates for parking. The diversity of the city is reflected in the list of participating restaurants. Some favorites include Zahav, a modern restaurant with authentic Israeli dishes such as Kibbe Naya, Romanian Kebab, and Chicken Shishlik. Buddakan is another popular spot during Restaurant Week. Buddakan specializes in Asian fusion dishes such as dim sum, Lo Mein, and fish. Of course, Geno’s Steaks offers an affordable cheesesteak in Philly all year, so be sure to visit us during Restaurant Week and beyond.

If all this talk about famous Philly cheesesteaks and local eateries is making you thirsty, check out the 4th Annual Big Philly Beerfest at the Philadelphia Convention Center on January 12 and 13, 2018. The event is presented by Fat Head’s Brewery, and hundreds of beers from 125+ breweries from Philadelphia and across the country will be represented. Last year, famous breweries such as Abita, Dark Horse, Magic Hat, and Troegs were in attendance. Tickets are $55 before January 12, and $65 on the day of the event. Big Philly Beerfest will be raising money for Animal Rescue Partners, an organization supporting local rescues, pet adoption centers, and community spay/neuter programs.
