When the operators of rival cheesesteak shops Pat’s, Geno’s, and Tony Luke’s decided to go out for steaks – OK, they didn’t go out for cheesesteaks.
Geno Vento of Geno’s Steaks, Tony Luke Jr. of Tony Luke’s, and Frankie Olivieri of Pat’s Steaks had wood-grilled fiorentina steaks and brisket last night at Lo Spiedo, the Vetri restaurant at the Navy Yard. (As they are all offspring of the shops’ founders, it’s heartwarming to see them breaking bread together.)
The stakes will be different on Monday, when they compete at SugarHouse Casino for a Celebrity Poker Tournament with the hit television show, Poker Night in America.
