Celebrate a Playoff Push with the Best Cheesesteaks in Philly

It’s been far too long since the city of Philadelphia could join in celebration of meaningful major league baseball games in September. Thanks to a winning streak and a few crucial moves at the trade deadline, our Phightin’ Phils are in a great position to win the National League East. Whether you are heading to tailgate a game or just want to enjoy the best cheesesteaks in Philly while watching from home, Geno’s has you covered. As we know a little bit about being the best at our craft, today we will look at the players most important to the Phillies playoff push.

Zack Wheeler – No one has exemplified what it means to be the best this year quite like Zack Wheeler. Wheeler has been the clear Ace of the staff and has been a workhorse for the Phillies. With a struggling bullpen, the Phillies have asked Wheeler to pitch deep into his starts. A challenge that Wheeler has embraced. The team knows that they have a great chance of winning every fifth day when Wheeler hits the mound.

Bryce Harper – It’s no coincidence that the Phillies started to get hot when Bryce Harper started to join the MVP conversation. Bryce does it all at the plate and in the field. His energy is contagious and his will to win is unmatched. We are excited to see Citizens Bank Park go wild after a Harper homerun in September. If Bryce can continue to play at an MVP level, the Phillies may just become NL East champs.

Aaron Nola – The presumed Ace of the staff entering the season, Nola hasn’t yet reached his full potential this season. He has flashes of dominance and his ability to deliver consistent performances will not only determine if the Phillies make the playoffs, but how deep into the playoffs the team can go should they make the tournament.

Ian Kennedy – There was no bigger issue to address this offseason than the bullpen. The Phillies have blown more saves than any other team in baseball. While it’s easy to look at this as a negative, it also shows how incredible this team could be with the proper closer. Ian Kennedy is one of the league’s better relief pitchers and will be counted on to come up clutch in big spots. We are just happy to have the best cheesesteaks in Philly to settle our stomachs when the game is on the line!
